Where the Wild Things Are

Ok, so I'm intrigued...I've been wondering how they would make a story out of an extended wild rumpus but looks like they did, and it looks kinda amazing. This was my second favorite book as a kid, the first being "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs." They should make a movie out of that! In stop motion! That would be AMAZING!! I always wished I lived in the tiny town of Chewandswallow. Oh for a melted butter sun (or was it a jello sun?) and mashed potatoes mountains.

actually, they are making "a cloudy with a chance of meatballs" movie. it's animated, not stop motion though. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP9wtdwgeok

doesn't look as good as it could have been

yeah, it looks like a pixar-type imitation that completely eschews the style (and premise) of the book. They rob it of all its imagination and wonder by giving it a pseudo-scientific explanation. I think I will stick with Wild Things. I am excited for that one.

Thanks for the heads up!

Oh man, I've been trying to think of the name of that book (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) for ages! I loved it SO MUCH when I was a kid. I'm not even gonna watch the trailer for it...don't wanna know!

Also, I feel like for some reason I missed the "Wild Things" boat when I was little. I remember having it read to me, but I think for some reason I was way more into that book about the kid with the magic crayon? I think it was maybe by Sendac as well? Regardless, the trailer looks pretty great, and I'm excited!
